April is Becoming a Very Monumental Month!!!!
So I don't know how this happened, but I guess I deleted my last post. Well just to update you it was about me and my roommate decorating our apartment but most importantly it was about how my mom, dad, bishop and I all had fasted about if me going through the temple would be the right thing to do. We all got the answer that I could either wait or go through now. I chose now (not a surprise, I'm an impatient little bugger). Anyway, I had gone to the temple preparation class and loved it and felt a comfirmation of my decision. It took me a little while because I was out of town so much over the last couple of months, but I have finished the temple prep. classes. I went shopping with my mom for a temple dress a few weekends ago and couldn't find anything that fit me. So my mom decided that she would make me one. My mom sure loves me!! : ) Then last week I set up an appointment with the Bishop to get a temple recommend interview. He said that he hadn't checked with the Stake President if it was okay for me to go the temple without me going on a mission or getting married. He asked me to check back with him on Friday or Saturday. I called on Saturday just dying to know what Pres. Carlson said. Bishop told me that he didn't need to figure out until Monday because I wasn't in Price for the weekend (I had gone home) he would just talk to me after FHE. My bishop is an awesome guy (but a big tease too, I think he was just trying to torture me because I'm so dang excited!). So I go to FHE tonight and doesn't say anything when he says hi to me or anything. I'm thinking, oh no it's bad news because he's avoiding talking about it. Then during FHE he teased me by saying "Now Brenda, you and I are going to visit tonight afterwards. Are you going to be able to answer a certain question correctly? {We were playing a scripture trivia game and I was looking up answers on my phone but said I was texting instead---hahaha, don't worry my team lost : )} Then I knew that Pres. Carlson approved I would be good to continue on! Yay! So Bishop and I chatted a good little chat and now have my recommend! I'm going to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple on April 30th (the day after my birthday)!!!! Now I just need to call and tell the Temple patrons that... : ) Another thing that has happened this month (actually this last weekend---April 10) is that Greg blessed Maddie and Bridger. Maddie is 2 and Bridger is now 7 weeks old. After Maddie was born Greg said he wanted to bless Maddie himself. It took a little while, but he received the priesthood sometime with the last couple months. He blessed Maddie first and got a little emotional, but it was so sweet. Me and mom were in the corner just crying. It was neat. Then it was little Bridger's turn. He is such a sweet little boy. He is completely opposite of Maddie. He looks just like Greg, where Maddie looks just like Kim---except for her mischievious little grin, she got that from Greg. As for his personality Bridger is more mellow, like Kim, where Maddie is just like Greg, fearless, determined, and strong-willed. Greg did a great job and loves those two little ones so much. I hope things work out for him soon with his job. He is such a hard worker and good guy. He deserves so much more than what he gets. I haven't posted anything about teaching for a while. My class is crazy. That's about all there is to it. Most of it probably has to do with me being a first year teacher and not knowing what to do, but I also have some wild kids. I have several students (more than any one teacher should have to handle) who have the same behavior tendencies. I have a few who throw very bad temper tantrums. They throw chairs, kick desks over, tear apart things---one last week went as far and completely ignoring me and started running around the room on all fours growling at the students and trying to charge at them or squeeze their legs to scare or hurt them. They've hit me and tried to bite me and the Principal as he comes to take them out. I have a few who refuse to do anything I ask them and tell me no. One of those ones has one more chance then he will be at home for a three day suspension. They are 6 and 7 years old!! My goodness! I think several parents think the education system is a free daycare facility for their kids where they get an education bonus as well. And, we are going to the Zoo this Thursday for a field trip. A couple of the above mentioned students won't be going due to their noncompliance with following directions. The other ones have their parents to come and babysit them. A few others I wouldn't mind leaving in the gorilla's cage....(just kidding---but not, in a way...if you know what I mean!) Yeah, it's the end of the year and I am still so appalled at everything that these kids do. Oh and did I mention that one of my students was moved to another class because his mom felt that I hated her son? Well, I don't hate him, but I was frustrated with him constantly because he would mouth off to me, argue, whine over every little thing. And of course he isn't going to like school when he doesn't get to do whatever the heck he pleases!! He's not 30, he's 7 and I'll teach him at school---not babysit him!! Sorry, am I going on a bit of a rampage??? Sometimes that happens. Just have to get it out! : ) I also will be moving to Kindergarten next year. I hope it lasts, instead of a last minute switch like what happened last year a week before school started! Anyway....back to the good stuff!!! I'm going through the temple, and I'm so excited!!! I may just take the Friday before off just so I can relax on my birthday and prepare for the next day! :) Greg blessed Maddie and Bridger (Maybe sometime soon we'll see the four of them sealed together!) . And I have SPRING BREAK coming up in 8 1/2 more days...really only 6 1/2 school days!!!!!!! Yup it's been a pretty monumental month! And it's not even close to over!!! This summer is going to be great also. Brian and Kate are coming up from Georgia in July. Kate and Thomas are running a half-marathon and Brian and I will be running a 5K race. It will be fun. I won't have to work and will just be able to relax and get ready for kindergarten next year!!
